Project Summary & Disccussion
the project is a Static Structral Analysis using Finite Element Analysis to Calculate the Deformation and Safety Factor of Barge Ship section under Hydrostatic Load of 1.5m Draft acting on ship plating from outside, Gravitational Force of Ship Structure Weight(Plating and Stiffeners) and Cargo Load of 10 KPa inside the Hull.
the final results is 2.5 mm Max Deflection at Main Deck and FOS Minimum in all the structure of 1.46 at Bracket Edges in 2 areas each of less than 4mm by 4mm size
Geometry
Dimensions
Barge Section
Beam Sections
Mesh
Mesh was generated as a Quadrilateral mesh with 50 mm mesh size,Edge sizing on all edges of 10 mm and Bracket Surface sizing of 5mm
Mesh Quality
Total of 105636 Node and 106780 Element was generated with Average Mesh Quality of 0.85665, Standard deviation of 0.10869 and Minimum of 0.27
Analysis settings "Load/Support Configuration"
Symmetry Boundary Condition
Support / Load Boundary Condition
1. Simple and fixed support were applied at the two Edges of the ship Section
 2. Hydrostatic pressure of 1.5m Draft was applied at the ship outer plating
3. Standrad Earth Gravity applied at all Plates and Stiffeners to calculate Members own weight (4766.3 kg)
4. Presure of 10 Kpa was applied at both the Main Deck and Barge Bottom
Solution
Deformation
2.5mm Max Deflection at Main Deck and very Low Deflection at the rest of the Hull
Stress Factor of Safety
FOS Minimum in all the structure of 1.46 at Bracket Edges in 2 areas each of less than 4mm by 4mm size
